UNDRESS, LOOKING AT A QUEER WOMAN UNDRESSING (2021)

Taking inspiration from Jemima Stehli´s photographic series “Strip”, Paulina is reworking the concept through a queer lens. The project is set out to question what difference there are between the gazes. Is the gaze there to relate to or does it objectify? Rather then being about the male gaze, this photographic experiment is about the female reaction to a queer woman stripping. It´s an experimental study of the femme gaze, and how we look at each other. The sitter has the total control over the image making, having the remote control, whilst the artist undress in her studio. How would you look, if you were allowed to look, but also knowing that you are being look at? Can one trust your own gaze?
